LODGE HIGHLIGHTS
Meetings incorporate:
- the practice of the Norwegian language
- hands-on activities such as rosemaling & Hardanger embroidery
- Norwegian & Scandinavian history, culture & common songs such as Hurra for Deg (the Norwegian Happy Birthday song).

Some of the many local Norwegian and cultural events that Sonja Henie Lodge participates in include:
- Multi Cultural Day at Truckee Meadows Community College
- Night of All Nations
hosted by University Nevada-Reno
- Snowshoe Thompson Day in Genoa, Nevada
In addition to these events, the lodge hosts an annual Norwegian Smorgasbord each Spring for the public. In 2010 the lodge will celebrates it's 40th year of this delicious banquet. Please return to this website for future updates on this fun-filled event. The lodge is also active in many local community activities such as the Night of All Nations.
The lodge is a non-profit organization that looks forward to donating to local charities. To date, the Adopt-a-Family, Family Resource Center and Hosanna Home have benefited from these donations.

ABOUT LODGE'S NAME
The lodge name honors the world famous 20th century Norwegian skating and cinema star, Sonja Henie. She was born in Norway and became a skating star on the international scene in the late 1920's and into the 30's. She won three Olympic Gold medals in figure skating in 1928, 1932, and 1936. Sonja later became a famous cinema star. More details available. . .
