GENEALOGY INQUIRIES ANSWERED

Sarah Thorson Little answers questions from Daughters of Norway members in the Døtre Av Norge Newspaper members receive. Three newspaper genealogy articles are available online now (modified based on updated website links).

Inquiry one deals with a request for help finding correct lineage when many possible names were found for an ancestor. This is an excellent article on finding your past despite naming convention changes and multiple people using same name found in the same area.

The second inquiry deals with where to begin ancestry search on the web. It has many links to great sites that can aide your search. Some are in Norwegian, but most are written in English making your work easier. Links to professional help is included.

The final inquiry helps you in working with LDS family records that have much information available on ancestors. Although, the request was written for a specific person coming from one region of Norway, it offers you insight into searching your own ancestor tree.

My family came from Haegebostad in Vest-Agder in southern Norway. I would like to know what specific types of records they might have on that area. READ ENTIRE ARTICLE WITH RESPONSE
